Warren Athletic Hall of Fame To Induct Class of 2010

 

     The Warren Athletic Hall of Fame Committee today announced the members of its twelfth class of inductees.  They will be honored at the Hall of Fame’s banquet to be held at Swansea’s Venus de Milo Restaurant on Saturday, March 13, 2010.  Banquet cocktails will be served starting at 6 p.m., with dinner following at 7 p.m.

     Athletes Peter Andreozzi, Jon Burke, Sal Corona, Richard “Dick” DeBlois, Emilio “Mendy” Mendillo, Mike “Smally” Primiano, Jason Proulx, and Bethany Sardinha will be joined by Old Timers Herman “Manny” Heuberger and Milt Johnson, Coach Al Sweet, and Contributor Richie Mello.  In addition, the 1959-1960 National Guard Company D rifle team that captured the National Rifle Association Championship will be honored. Members of the team were Specialist Fourth Class Eddie Boulanger, Sergeant Manny Barboza, Sergeant First Class Roger Camara, Sergeant First Class Bob Lanoue, Sergeant First Class George Moren (coach), Sergeant First Class Bob Proulx, and Chief Warrant Officer Bill Willis.

     Heuberger, Johnson, Mello, and four members of the National Guard team will be honored posthumously.

 

 

Banquet tickets are now on sale for $35 a person and can be obtained by calling Martha Delekta (245-1361) or any other member of the Hall of Fame Committee.
