PETER “PETE” SEPE (Contributor, Class of 2002)

Chairman of the Warren Recreation Board from 1979 to 2002 (and its secretary before that), Pete Sepe is the founder and “godfather” of the Warren Athletic Hall of Fame.  He has served as the Hall’s treasurer since its inception in the spring of 1998.

A native of East Providence who still follows the Townies closely, Pete reminds everyone that he only recently moved to Warren.  1952, to be exact.

He has also served the Town of Warren as a Midget Football League coach, the Summer Festival Fishing Derby chairman, president of the Bristol County Stripers Club, the Alumni and Booster Club president, and a Youth Summer Soccer League “gofer”.  He has been honored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the Town of Warren’s 250th Anniversary Celebration Committee, and the Rhode Island General Assembly.

On November 16, 2002 Pete had the double honor of receiving the Rhode Island Foundation’s Alan Shawn Feinstein Award and having the Town of Warren Recreation Park’s Pavilion named in his honor.
