MARY WISNIESKI (Athlete, Class of 1999)

 

Mary Wisnieski was ranked in New England women’s lawn tennis from 1969 to 1972.  She was rated fifth in 1969, third in the next two years, and the leading woman in 1972.

A student of Del Daigneault, Mary was the Rhode Island Women’s Singles Champion from 1969 to 1972, while also being a member of the state winning doubles team in two of those years. 

In 1969 and 1970 she won the Massachusetts Women’s Singles title and in the latter year was a New England singles finalist.  She was the New England singles finalist again in 1972, a year when she won the New England Doubles title.

The Southern New England Singles Champion in 1972, she was also the number one singles player on the Marymount College women’s tennis team in that year.  In addition, she was the Florida Junior College Women’s Tennis Singles Champion.

During the four-year period noted above Mary won numerous other titles throughout the six-state New England region.
