A true soccer star, John Pimental was named All State in 1973, 1974, and 1975 and All New England in his senior year.  He led Warren High School to the state’s final match in his junior year, where they lost to Cranston East on a controversial goal.  The following year "Leadfoot"  scored twenty-four goals and led the state in assists with fifteen.

Prior to his success at Warren High, John starred on teams comprised primarily of Warren youngsters that captured three state championships in the Rhode Island Soccer League.

He played for the Barrington College men’s soccer team and scored twenty-four goals for the Warren Soccer Club championship team in 1976.

Showing his athletic versatility, John was a member of three Warren Softball League title teams and a league All Star.
