JASON PROULX (Athlete, Class of 2010)

Jason Proulx was named to three Little League regular and senior All Star teams and played on Pop Warner Pee Wee, Junior Midget, and Midget football elevens that won championships at various league and state levels.  And during those same pre-high school years, he was the Punt, Pass, and Kick District Champion, finishing second in the New England Patriot section of this national competition.

At. Mt. Hope High School, he played on two championship football teams: The 1995 Class B Co-Champions and the 1998 squad that followed up a Division Two undefeated regular season title with a 15-14, last-minute Super Bowl win over St. Raphael.  During the latter regular season, Jason served as team captain, ran for eleven touchdowns, and threw for eighteen more.

Following his senior season, the Rhode Island Chapter of the National Football Foundation presented him with a Golden Dozen Scholar/Athlete Award.  And in the summer of 1999, his touchdown pass went for the first Rhode Island score ever in the now annual Rhode Island versus Connecticut contest.

In recognition of his high school academic and athletic accomplishments, Jason was named Mt. Hope’s 1999 nominee for the Providence Journal Honor Roll Boy award.

Ten years later he returned to his alma mater and served as the offensive coordinator for the Huskies’ Division Two-A Co-Championship eleven.
