HIRUM JAMIEL  (Athlete, Class of 2006)

Hirum Jamiel is one of a handful of Warren athletes who have earned All State designation in two high school sports.

As a sophomore at La Salle, he earned All Class One-A-North honors in soccer.  During the following summer he played on teams that captured the state A Division 16 and under championship and the Gob Shops tourney title.

Then, during the fall of his junior season, he helped lead La Salle to the state finals, for which he was named to both All Class One A North and All State teams.

Finally, as a senior his continued strong play resulted in his again being designated both All Class One A North and All State.

Meanwhile, looking for a second sport in which to compete, he took up running.  After finishing third in the state 300-meter intermediate hurdles as a junior, he capped off an outstanding high school career by earning outdoor track honors in the 800 meters (All State) and 400 meters (All Class A).
